Giving Dyslexia Success
a New Digital Home

DyslexiaHelp website redesign brings trusted research and resources
together in an accessible, user-centered digital experience.

For more than two decades, DyslexiaHelp at the University of Michigan has been a trusted national resource for parents, educators, and individuals seeking research-based information about dyslexia.

Since 2011, WTW Creative has partnered closely with the DyslexiaHelp team—designing the original website and supporting its growth as the program expanded in reach, depth, and influence.

As the field evolved—and as expectations for digital experiences rose—it became clear that the website needed a comprehensive refresh. The goal was not to start over, but to build on a strong foundation with a modern experience that better serves today’s users while honoring the credibility and trust established over time.

From Legacy Utility to Modern Experience

WTW Creative originally designed the DyslexiaHelp website to organize a growing body of research-driven content into an accessible online resource. Over the years, the site accumulated valuable material, but incremental updates made it increasingly difficult to navigate, scan, and use across devices.

This redesign represented a full-circle moment: revisiting a platform we knew intimately and reimagining it for a new era. Our approach focused on preservation with purpose—retaining the content equity built over more than a decade while transforming how users access and experience it.

A Cleaner, More Human Interface

The new site introduces a clean, contemporary interface that balances academic authority with warmth and clarity. White space, improved typography, and a refined visual hierarchy reduce cognitive load and support ease of reading—especially important for a dyslexia-focused audience.

Visual design choices were made intentionally to support comprehension, not decoration. The result is a calmer, more inviting experience that helps users feel oriented, supported, and confident as they explore.

Designed for Accessibility—By Design

Accessibility has always been central to DyslexiaHelp’s mission, and it was foundational to this redesign. Drawing on more than a decade of partnership and deep familiarity with the audience, WTW Creative designed the site to support a wide range of users, including those with reading differences, visual impairments, and those using assistive technologies.

Accessibility considerations included:

  • High-contrast color palettes and legible typography
  • Clear content hierarchy and predictable layouts
  • Consistent navigation cues and spacing
  • Fully responsive design across desktop, tablet, and mobile

Rather than treating accessibility as a requirement to meet, the site treats it as an experience to honor.

Smarter Navigation, Clearer Paths

One of the most significant improvements is the site’s enhanced navigation and information architecture. Content is now organized around user intent—helping parents, educators, and individuals quickly find relevant resources, research, and success stories.

This restructuring reflects years of insight gained through our long-term partnership with DyslexiaHelp. It reduces friction, surfaces high-value content, and creates intuitive pathways for both first-time visitors and returning users.

Built on Trust. Designed for the Future.

Having worked alongside DyslexiaHelp since 2011, WTW Creative brought continuity, institutional knowledge, and strategic perspective to this redesign. The new site is not just a visual update—it is a future-ready platform designed to evolve with the program.

As DyslexiaHelp continues to expand its research, outreach, and impact, its website now reflects the same clarity, credibility, and compassion that define its work.
